Bruno Richard Hauptmann was accused; convicted; and executed for the kidnapping-murder of Charles A. Lindbergh Jr.; the toddler son of the aviator Charles Lindbergh. Hauptmann's famous trial for the so-called Crime of the Century was held in 1935.
